Melinda J. (Ball) Harlow, 74 of Indianapolis passed away February 28, 2009. She was born September 13, 1934 in Hartford City, IN to Earl L. and Nellie A. Ball who have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joni Harlow; son, Bruce Harlow; sister, Margie Cooney; brother, Mike Ball. Melinda was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where she was a mail carrier working out of the Speedway Post Office. Melinda was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include her sons, John & Chuck Harlow; daughters in law, Donna and Kim Harlow; sister, Mary Cook; brother, Robert Ball; grandchildren, Sarah, Julie, Megan & Olivia Harlow; adopted son, Chet Smith. Services are 1pm Thursday, March 5, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1375 S. Mickley Ave. Indpls, IN 46241). Friends may call on Thursday from 11am until the time of services at the church. Online condolences may be offered at usherfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund. Usher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
