Virginia "Ginny" Cox Broderick, 89 of Indianapolis passed away April 26, 2009. Virginia was born October 21, 1919 in Hope, IN to Clarence & Gladys Cox. She was preceded in death by her husband, former Marion County Sherriff and City County Councilman Lawrence F. Broderick. She was also preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Joseph Broderick, sister, Eleanor and brothers, Robert and Clarence. Virginia was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Virginia was also a Democratic precinct committee woman. She enjoyed gambling, crossword puzzles and discussing politics. She is survived by her sons, Charles (Marcia) Broderick, Mark Broderick and Timothy (Marie) Broderick; grandchildren, Jamie (Colleen), Katie, Joe, Michael & Mark Broderick; great grandchildren, Scout, Finnegan & Aniya Duffy; brother in law and sister in law, Bill & Louise Mattingly; sister in law, Lynn Broderick. Services for Virginia will be 11am Thursday April 30 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4-8pm Wednesday at the Usher Funeral Home.
