Norman Henry Clark, 87 passed away peacefully at his home on July 20. Norman was born March 7, 1922 to the late Henry Richard Clark and Inez Lucille (Smith) Clark. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donnas Lucille Sihner.
Norman lived his whole life in the Indianapolis area but he loved to travel. He was a ships carpenter, stationed in Hawaii during WW II. He was an active member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and an "inactive" member of the Ancient Landmarks Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, and the Indianapolis Transportation/Traffic Clubs. Norman retired as a long distance agent for Wheaton Van Lines in 1983. Prior to that he was Vice President for York/Shank Allied Van Lines.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn (Tiffany) Clark, three sons, Ron (Donna) Clark of Denton, Texas, Jim (Laura) Clark of Indianapolis and Stan (Lisa) Clark of New Palestine, Indiana; three daughters, Pennie (Bill) Dickin of Sequim, Washington, Cindy McKenzie of Indianapolis and Cathy (Steve) Thoman of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.; brother in law, Robert Sihner of Reno, Nevada; long time friend, Chris Cary of Prescott Valley, Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. For many he will be remembered for his sweet smile, blue eyes and warm handshake.
There will be a celebration of Norman's life on Friday, July 24th at 2:30pm at Old Bethel United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 1pm until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Old Bethel United Methodist Church or Community Home Hospice. Usher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
