Carolyn Miles Smith, 68 of Indianapolis passed away August 7, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Roach and her parents, Tom and Fern Miles. She was a dispatcher for many years at Airline Taxi and for BFI. Carolyn was a member of the Corinthian Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include sons, Greg (Cheryle) Smith, Gene Smith, Jr., Jerry (Michele) Smith; daughter, Beverly (Tim) Swineford; sister, Janet (Paul) Miles Schneck; brother, Jim (Marge) Miles; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services for Carolyn are 11am Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Usher Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.
