Charles L. Hopkins died March 10, 2010 at his home in Indianapolis after a long bout with lymphoma. He was born December 1, 1937 near Ladoga, IN the third son of Carlos L. & Hazel A. Page Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his oldest brother Lovell who died in 1934. His brothers Donald and Ernest survive. Charles graduated from Wallace High School in Fountain County, IN in 1955. He retired from Link Belt in Indianapolis in 1996 where he was a press operator. He was also a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Bible Church. Charles leaves behind his wife, Myrtle Wiles whom he married in 1980 and her children who loved him like a father; Austin Landis, Terry Johnson, Russell Landis, Tracy Landis, Tim Landis. Charles is also survived by his previous wife, Shirley A. Clampitt and their daughters, Deborah Montani, Teresa Hopkins, Cathy Moore, and Rebecca Shands. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services for Charles are 1:30pm Saturday, March 13 at the Usher Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11am until the time of service on Saturday. Burial is in Floral Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Association.
